Weaving on top of a gourd you can learn many different techniques in a short time. Techniques like twinning, twinning a spiral, Japanese weave using a flat weaver, and a reverse rolled border. There will be different colors available and techniques can be placed in different orders in the weaving to create different looking weavings. Design on gourd will not be done in this class, but a pattern with photos will be included.
INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
Gourd kit which will include cut and cleaned gourd, dyed reed, and any other supply we will use.
STUDENT SHOULD BRING
Scissors, bucket for soaking reed, spray bottle, and (opt) an awl or small flat screwdriver would be helpful.
