We will be weaving an entire basket on a gourd using dyed seagrass. the colors will be matched to create a wonderful design. I will teach you how to create two entirely different techniques in the weaving: spirals and stacks. The basket will be finished with a beaded rim with the ends of the spokes showing. This is so much fun and an easy basket to make.
INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
Gourd kit which includes cut, cleaned, and dyed gourd, seagrass in different colors, dyed reed for spokes, and embellishments.
STUDENT SHOULD BRING
Scissors, small bucket for soaking reed, spray bottle, and (opt) an awl or small flat screwdriver.
