Friday Morning 9 - 1

Students will measure and draw 6 continuing circles around the bowl. Using this design we will chip-carve the pattern. Added designs will be chip-carved within each circle. We will also review chip-carving techniques with practice pieces. Sanding, staining, and further finishing will be done.

INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
A cleaned thick gourd bowl, 6" to 7" in diameter, will be provided.  Sand paper, line drawing apparatus, stain, rubber gloves, shoe polish,and paste wax.   Bowl rims are NOT included in this class.

STUDENT SHOULD BRING
A protective glove, a wood carvers gouge #11 X 3/16 inch, a flexible ruler, a pencil, and a drawing compass are needed.

For a savings of $5.00, students may bring their own following supplies:
A thick Martin House bowl 7 inches in diameter.
