4 Hours - All Levels
Thursday 1 - 5 pm

In this class, students will learn how to paint four new faux finishes:  Tortoise Shell, Malachite, Pink Marble, and Brick - using sponging, masking, and various paint brushes to achieve different textures and looks.  They will also learn about the proper use, care, and cleaning of brushes, as well as the properties of acrylic paints and methods of expanding/changing those properties.

Instructor will provide all necessary supplies including:
Cleaned/sanded/base-coated gourds, brushes, water basins, acrylic paints, mediums, paper towels, foam plates, sea sponges, masking tape, etc.  Each student will receive a complete instruction packet listing all supplies and explaining each step used for the various faux finishing techniques.

Students should bring an apron or smock to protect their clothing.  While the paint used is water-based acrylic, if it dries on fabric, it is difficult to remove.  If possible, students should bring a hair dryer or heat gun.  The Instructor will have hair dryers/heat guns available for student use, if they are unable to bring their own.

For a savings of $5.00, students may bring their own following supplies:
Martin gourd that has already been cleaned, sanded, and base-coated with 2 coats of black acrylic paint prior to class

Walk-ins welcome if class is not full
