3 Hours - All Levels
Saturday Afternoon 1 - 4
In this class students will learn about alcohol inks, their characteristics, and an application and finishing technique that results in a glass-like finish. They will learn how to string aluminum tubes to get a pleasing sound, use flexible steel wire and specialized scrimps, and application of eye bolts, washers and chains for hanging.
The Instructor will provide all needed supplies, including: cleaned/cut/sanded gourd tops of various shapes, alcohol inks of available colors, pre-cut aluminum tubes, flexible steel wire, scrimps, eye bolts, washers, chains, scissors, paper towels, alcohol, etc.
Students should bring sharp scissors and hair dryer/heat gun, if possible. They should also bring an apron or smock to protect their clothing, as these inks do stain fabrics. The instructor will have scissors and hair dryers/heat guns available for student use.
For a savings of $2.00, students may bring the following supplies:
A cleaned, cut, and sanded gourd top 4+ inches in diameter...may be larger, but no smaller.
Walk-ins welcome if class is not full
