The students will learn how to carve a gourd into a 3D design utilizing a wood burner. This process involves learning how to cut into the gourd with your burner. It also includes how to apply the patterns to the surface of the gourd, and apply the colors.
INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
Cleaned gourds, inside and out. Patterns, tracing paper, stylus for pattern application. Sharpie pens for applying colors. Instructional handout.
STUDENT SHOULD BRING
Each student will need a heat controlled wood burner. The burner tips needed can be ordered from Highland Woodworking. Phone #800-241-6748. The tip #125357. The price is $8.50 each. These tips will last for years without replacement. Bring your own patterns, if desired.
