Signing up for Classes
via
Electronic Form
Before signing up for classes, you must be signed up to attend.

Only one class sign-up form may be submitted per person (who must be registered to attend - see above) - no double or group forms requesting all the same classes.

Once the sign-up process begins, electronic forms are received at a rate of 7 to 10 forms per minute.  For instance, a person who signs up at the exact time sign-up begins, could have 7 to 10 people in front of them.  By 10 minutes after the clock starts, 70 to 100 people have already signed up, and some classes are possibly full.

Last year, 200 people signed up in the first 3-1/2 hours.  Of course, it takes several more hours to process the information, as it is not fully automated and much of it is done manually, so although "class full" notifications are added to the website as soon as possible, it is not  immediate.  Therefore, we can't stress enough the importance of making 2nd and 3rd choices when you first sign up!

When a class becomes full, a waiting list is maintained from the original order of forms received, and as openings occur, the seats are filled from the waiting list.  Also, when a class is closed, the Instructor is notified and has the opportunity to schedule another session of a particular class if they so choose.  If another session is offered at a different time, people from the original class session's waiting list are contacted first to see if they want to reschedule so they can take their first choice class at another time.

New classes may become available after the original schedule is posted, or a class may need to be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.  These situations will be announced via an email update.

Changes to individual schedules are processed through May 31, 2008.

Although it takes some time, we have found, perhaps through the power of the Gourd Glow, that when all is said and done, the majority of attendees end up with a schedule they are pleased with.

Regardless of the registration process, be it electronic, U.S. mail, or live on-site, it's still a first-come, first-served process.

You will receive an email with your confirmed class schedule within 24 to 48 hours.  If you have not  been notified within that time frame, contact Joy Jackson.
Please keep in mind that you are communicating with a live volunteer who is doing their best to help you make the most of your Gourd Artists Gathering experience.
What to do once you have your classes scheduled. . .

Read the class descriptions carefully and make a list of the items you are to bring to your classes.  Of special note, list which ones you will need to provide a gourd for.  If you don't have the type you need, there will be gourds available for purchase on site from our many raw gourd vendors.  You may notice that there are classes teaching a technique on a gourd, but not a rim, and others teaching rim techniques on a finished gourd vessel.  See if it works out that you can use a project from one class for another!

You may make comments in each box on the right (where you are adding your class ID choices) and/or there is a "comments" section at the end of the form.

Some classes may not be listed in the order of their assigned times, so look carefully at the schedule and the notes on the left of this form below for times!

Please choose all your classes for the entire event, then complete the form and submit it only once.
