Students will learn how to cut and clean a small penguin gourd to create a butterfly house.  They will learn how to reattach the bottom of the gourd and cut the openings for the butterflies.  The students will then learn about staining the gourd and be taught how to paint the daisies and butterflies  Students will then seal with polyurethane and attach a hanger.  Students should be able to complete the entire project in class.

INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
Small penguin gourd, school bus yellow paint, thicket paint, orange paint, licorice paint, wicker white paint, coffee bean paint, leather, floating medium, super glue, hand sanitizer/handi-wipes, maple stain, red barn stain, polyurethane, paper towels, paper plates.  Instructor will have gourd saw for student to use in class.

STUDENT SHOULD BRING
3/4" flat brush, Water basin, #12 flat brush, #2 script liner, sharp pencil, 1/2" scruffy brush, long handled gourd cleaner,gourd saw with blades
