Students will learn to weave a reed basket with a wooden base to which the student will wood burn a gourd pattern into. Several different gourd patterns will be supplied for your choice. The basket will have leather handles. A tutorial and all the supplies needed for this class will be supplied by the teacher.
INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
Instructor will provide ALL supplies.
STUDENT MUST BRING
Students MUST bring a wood burner and tips to class to burn in the pattern. Teacher will bring all other supplies: tutorial, patterns, dyes, reed, basket weaving tools and bucket for water, leather handles, etc.
Savings (up to $17.00) may be applied as follows if student brings their own following supplies:
A round wooden basket base about 7" wide - $4.50
A one-lb. coil of 3/8" flat reed - $5.00
About 6' of #3 or #4 round reed - $ 2.00
About 12" of good quality leather and 4 rivets for making the handles - $3.50
Ink dyes for coloring in the patterns and basket spray - $ 2.00
Walk-ins welcome if class is not full
