Are you ready for the 2008 Gourd Artist Gathering in Cherokee? Do you have your name badge completed and ready to enter the 2008 Name Badge Contest? If you’ve done this before, you know what to expect. If this is your first year, here are the guidelines:
1. Make your name badge out of a GOURD (or a piece of gourd).
2. Put your FIRST name and LAST name on the badge.
3. Include the STATE or country you come from.
That’s so EASY! You get to decide whether to make a pin, necklace, hat, pendant, or anything else that will help identify you. Here’s your chance to be original and creative, SO GO FOR IT. We’re expecting a lot of new faces this year and wearing a name badge is a good way to get acquainted. This contest is always fun and we’re hoping to have a lot of entries for 2008. Our theme for the event is "country". You don’t have to use that for the name badges but it would be nice to incorporate the same theme for your name badge. Don't forget to make a name badge for anyone else who might be coming with you (spouse, family member, or friend).
Bebee Goddard will once again be heading up the Name Badge Contest project. We thank Denise Henderson for standing in last year and the great job she did!

Sign-up registration for the contest will be Thursday afternoon until 12:00 Friday. Look for me at the NAME BADGE CONTEST table. If you will not be arriving until AFTER the 12:00 deadline on Friday, you can still participate. Just send me a .jpg picture of your name badge. I will need to receive this before May 30.
If you have any questions, you can email me at bbg02@bbgoddard.com. Be sure to include “name badge contest” in the subject line of your email.
