Learn how to work with egg shells as a way to add interest and depth to your gourd art. Participants will learn proper cleaning of egg shells along with a new egg shell coloring technique that creates beautiful egg shells for a dragonfly. This class will discuss two egg shell coloring techniques that includes the egg shells that decorate the dragonfly and the gourd  bottom. Also learn several new egg shell cutting techniques and how to apply and fit the egg shells to the dragonfly design. Most participants should finish this project in the allotted class time.

This class will be to add a dragonfly to your gourd. Class discussion on how to embellish the gourd with a rim and bottom treatment as shown in the second class photo.

Caution - working with egg shells on gourds can be addictive!

INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES
Prepared egg shells, patterns, glues, putty tools, pencils, tape, all painting supplies including brushes, matte or gloss sealants, other miscellaneous supplies including a new class tool, class handout.

STUDENT SHOULD BRING
Cleaned Gourd, Whole or Cut (gourd should have a space consisting of 3 inches wide by 4 inches high to accommodate the dragonfly design) Wood Burner with some wood burning experience helpful (I use a temperature controlled burner and a very small rounded heel skew tip pen) Hobby Knife with a sharp cutting blade, Hair Dryer

Walk-ins welcome if class is not full (bring your own gourd and woodburner)

The Instructor is extremely allergic to scented products and respectfully requests
that students please not wear scents like perfumes, lotions, etc. to class.
