$35.00
3 Hours - All Levels
Friday Morning 9 - 12
Friday Afternoon 2 - 5
Here is a technique for no more roly-poly gourds. Students will learn basic skills needed to create a base with closed coiling using waxed lined thread over a paper foundation on the bottom of a gourd. Skills include how to begin the coiling, adding additional thread, and ending the coiling to make a flat base to prevent rocking. Students will also learn to do a coiled rim on a round opening and an additional method for ending the coiling. Students may not complete the project in class, but will be provided the information and demonstration of how to finish the project. An instructional handout will be provided with information on gourd preparation, the coiling process, and how to end the coiling.
