3 Hours - All Levels
Saturday Morning 8 - 11
Students will learn the basics of a closed coiling rim treatment on a gourd using waxed linen thread over a paper foundation. Skills include how to begin coiling, adding additional thread, making switch-backs and circular designs, adding beads and ending the coiling. Each student will be encouraged to create an original design using positive and negative space concepts. Students will not complete the project in class but will be provided printed information and demonstration on how to finish the project.
